    Greet 8thgrade. Introductions to what they will study etc. Get to tknow about them a little bit. Rules a regulations etc. Welcome students, learn names etc. Explain the scope and sequence of American History at junior level, 19th century focus. Explain about classroom rules, use of textbooks etc. Explain about taking notes, ID’s answering questions.

    Hand out assignment sheet. Discuss where students have been in 5th grade History. Briefly review early American History. Get them up to speed as to where they have been and where we will start studying and where we are going. Assign students to read Ch. 6-1 pages 157-159. We will begin in earnest on Monday.

    We will begin with Chapter 6, The Road to the Revolution. Students should have read pages 157-159 before coming to class. Read segments in class as necessary discuss the questions from the assignment sheet as we go along. Students are assigned to complete chapter 6-1 assignment due on Tuesday. Also assign students to read Ch. 6-2 pages 161-166 for Tuesday.

    Students should hand in Assignment Ch. 6-1 at the beginning of class. Students should have read Ch. 6-2 pages 161-166 for Today before coming to class. Read segments in class as necessary discuss the questions from the assignment sheet as we go along. Students are assigned to complete chapter 6-2 assignment due on Wednesday at the end of the period.

    Thursday, August 23, 2018 Block Day 2nd Hour

    Today we will complete the study of Ch. 6-2. There are several extended answer questions on this assignment. Students will be given ample time in class today to discuss and complete those answers. These are important topics and students should work had to write appropriate responses about what they think on these issues. The assignment is due at the end of the period today.

    Student will also be assigned to read Ch. 6-3, pages 169-174 before coming to class.

    Student should have read Ch. 6-3, pages 169-174 before coming to class. Today we will discuss the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Read segments in class as necessary discuss the questions from the assignment sheet as we go along. Read Paul Revere’s Ride in Class and discuss. Students should Begin Assignment Chapter 6-3. We will complete this assignment on Monday and begin to watch the Movie April Morning. (Assignment 6-4)
