    American History Lesson Plans for 3rd 9 weeks, Week 31,

    March 26 – March 30, 2012

    1st, 2nd, and 3rd Hour

    March 26, 2012, Monday

    No School Teacher Inservice.

    March 27, 2012, Tuesday

    Students should have read Ch 26-3, pages 861-867 before coming to class. Be ready to discuss television and early shows, transistors and computers, polio, and the affluent society.

    Go to Utube and find a few segments of shows like I Love Lucy, Ozzie and Harriet, Leave It To Beaver, Father Knows Best, American Bandstand, Dragnet, or The Ed Sullivan Show to get an idea of television programs of that time.

    Find on DVD, Netflix or Hulu or other media the movie; Rebel Without A Cause starring James Dean about teenagers of the 1950’s era.

    March 28, 2012, 1st and 3rd hour, Wednesday

    March 29, 2012, 2nd hour Thursday

    Students should have read Ch 26-3, pages 861-867 before coming to class. Be ready to discuss television and early shows, transistors and computers, polio, and the affluent society.

    Students should have read Ch 27-1 pages 878-886 before coming to class. Be prepared to discuss the election of President Kennedy, his inaugural address, Bay of Pigs, the Berlin Crisis, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the Peace Corps. Begin discussion and continue on Friday.

    March 30, 2012, 1st, 2nd and 3rd hour. Friday.

    Assignment 26-3 is due at this time.
