Get to Know Mrs. Denk
Hello. My name is Laurie Denk. I have been an educator for twenty-six years. I am certified in language arts (5-12), and Library Media (K-12). I am currently a technology instructor at Vision_Tek, the community/school technology center for USD 400. Vision_Tek is an extension of Smoky Valley High School.
I have a B.A. in English/Education from Fort Hays State University, an M.A. in English from FHSU, and a K-12 Library Certification from FHSU as well. School, as you can see, is my business. I have been involved in technology education for over five years. I wish I could tell you I have an interesting and unique hobby such as rubber band collecting, but I spend the majority of my time working.
I have a wonderful family. John, my husband, is the middle school principal at Smoky Valley Middle School. He enjoys his "man shed" in our back yard where he creates woodworking masterpieces. I have a son named Connor, who is an aspiring musician who attends school at Wichita State University. My daughter Claire is a sophomore at Smoky Valley High School.
