During the evening of Monday, August 17, the flow of email going to '@smokyvalley.org' addresses will be changed so it goes to the new Zimbra server. This guide will help you re-configure your FirstClass (FC) client settings so existing emails in FC can be accessed and eventually forwarded to your new Zimbra account.
You should be familiar with this process since you most likely did it after following the directions in the info packet sent from the Central Office in early August.
A key goal in getting switched over has been maintaining the same email addresses for everyone. This has required some creative renaming and shuffling of servers, and because of this shuffling, the following process must be done one more time in order to continue to access the mail you have in FirstClass.
1. Launch FirstClass. You should get an error stating the FirstClass server could not be found on the network. Click 'OK' or 'Cancel' and select the 'Setup' button. If you don't see the Setup button, click the triangle beside the word 'Advanced' so it's pointing down.
2. On the Setup screen, find the 'Server:' field. (It will have either 'mail.smokyvalley.org' or '208.191.44.1' already entered.) Delete what ever is entered in the field and type in 'fc.smokyvalley.org' (without the quotes):

3. Click the 'Save' button in the lower-right corner.
4. Click the Green Arrow to log in.
The point of this process is to reconfigure FirstClass to run a new set of email addresses. This must be done because two servers cannot host mail with the same email address, and since we're moving to Zimbra, there's no way to run both servers at the same time with the same email info.
Sometime after 8:00 on Monday, August 17, all email coming from FirstClass will have the address '@fc.smokyvalley.org' so your FirstClass account will continue to exist, it will have the ending '@fc.smokyvalley.org'. Your original '@smokyvalley.org' addresses that you will continue to use will be available through Zimbra.
Once everything is setup with your FirstClass client and the reconfiguration of the FC server is complete, you can start forwarding email to your Zimbra account.
Simply log into FirstClass, select the messages you want to keep in Zimbra and forward them to your email address.
The easiest way to do this is to type your entire email address into the 'To:' field once, then copy it so it can be pasted:
When you log into Zimbra, you should see messages coming from your FC account (for example, mrose@fc.smokyvalley.org).
